![]() Forster, Middle Manager’ (one of the essays) she talked about how Forster, when writing or talking about the Arts, always made a point to judge books based on whether they were worth bothering with² whether it was worth giving up x amount of hours staring at the words on the page. Yesterday I went and bought a book of essays by Zadie Smith and in ‘E.M. That doesn’t mean the same thing as forget about it: I simply need a space, if only for myself, to try and think and reflect on a very hefty book. I’m writing this post because I want to clear my head of Infinite Jest. ![]() ![]() Is the ultimate joke of Infinite Jest that, rather than being unyieldingly interesting, men talking about the novel is so ceaselessly boring you do not want to get involved with it? ![]()
